Talking about The Three Musketeers Bar

Quote

The Three Musketeers Bar

There was a bakery
near the railroad tracks
a broken window
Scent of fresh baked
bread
on the
cooling racks within
Reach.
One candy bar
lasted a day.
That sleepless cold
November turned
to slush and
stumbled into the
Cathedral.
Knelt on both knees
before the alter
outstreached arms
Eyes closed
facing heaven
back arched
breath steaming
garmets and beard.
A shaft of sunlight
shot through a stained
Glass window and
Illuminated the figure
on the floor of the Church.
Like a spot light from Heaven.
As it warmed my face
my arms dropped
to my sides and
I looked straight ahead
at a
Startled Priest
Standing near the Alter.
I stood
Said,
"Sorry, Father."
Turned and walked
out of the Cathedral
just as hungy and damp as I
walked in.
But with a smile
as I walked
without.

As ever be well.  Stephen Craig Rowe

I thought of you last night Stephen – in your uniform with your drink – pouring the remainder of your glass out. I hope you felt the thanks of all those who were sending it to you. This poem is eye opening. You have lived life – with ups and downs and all the in-betweens haven’t you? Don’t you agree that it makes us better people? More empathetic. You are amazing. Again – thank you for sharing it in your beautiful way.-Heidi

I agree this is very visual. I’ve really enjoyed looking at your paintings. I could appreciate them all, even if I didn’t find them all to my taste, and liked some better than others…. does that make sense? BIG HUGS, Steph

I thank you for sharing your gift with the world around you, and with strangers and friends from far across the globe. Even if they are in the future ha ha or from the past.Be well dear friendYolanda

I read your comments about pouring drinks to friends that have passed on. It is a good and right thing to do, they need to be remembered. I think it helps both, they that are gone, and we that are here. Glad to meet you Stephen.Jim SMSgt, USAF Ret.

Hey Stephen – This is probably a stupid question – but did you erase my comment or did it never post? lol If you erased it for whatever reason I didn’t want to post it again….just curious. I’ve had a migraine for almost 2 days straight – drugged and all – could have easily not posted it or maybe said something offensive??? lol Who knows. Yes – even with a migraine – during moments when I thought the pain was easing I’d visit your space….-Heidi

Thank you so much Stephen, you are right, our works are greater than we are. At least this is how it is turning out. I strive to be the best person I can be as well as the best artist I can be. All in all in the grand scheme of things, I’m just a speck of dust in the cosmos. But in my part of the universe, I try to make things good. As you too have made a wonderful place in your world. Thanks again my friend, Peace~Nita
