Painting Studio Bump In The Roadshow And High Wire Walking

I was not going to make an entry about recent events at the Painting Studio but a dear friend told me that it is better to be honest and let people see the side of me that is vulnerable and human.  I am not going to go into details but the sale of two paintings earlier this month fell through.  Assuming that the check would be cut on the 30th, I overextended myself thinking this was a done deal.  It was not.  Had to cut short my time off and get an advance from work to cover July rent as our auditor informed me that the IRS had slapped a lien on my wages for back taxes that would make my maximum take home pay for a month…….$650.00.  At home there was a red utility shut off notice for my gas and electric service.  After paying rent, I had three dollars and seventy six cents to my name.  Mind you, this all happened  in one hours time on the fifth of July.  My heart was racing and my head was on overload as I paced the floor.  No bank account, no savings, no credit card and $3.76 on my night stand.  I have been on the edge many times in my past but not like this.  I prayed and thought as I walked that afternoon.

 

Good news is that I was able to pay the utility company, worked out a payroll deduction plan with the IRS that does not pose an extreme hardship, am able to pay my internet service provider on Monday and have the rent for August.  Whew………..Without a loan or groveling I am going to be ok.

 

ON THE EDGE

High wire walking bare foot

On razor wire

The fear of falling

Oh…..

There are no words

For the Dervish Desolate

Moment

As the

Wire sways……

Balance is lost

And one is free

As they are alone again

In the Defiant Sanctuary.

Then grow new wings

For the next Flight Test

And keep the  Show on

The road.
